2WEB Showcases Bourke’s Bright Young Stars

2WEB’s youngest broadcasters are bringing their own style to the airwaves as they learn what it takes to be a broadcaster, mastering technology that many adults would find daunting.

St Ignatius students Eriko Rose, Clare Lawson, Charlii Willoughby, Stella Carter and Allie Ritchie have joined Trae Wilson, Ashley Harrod and Edie Crain from Bourke Public school. Finn and Austin Webber complete the team from Bourke High School. Together they make up the 2020 “A” team of young volunteer broadcasters in 2WEB’s long running education program.

As well as learning how to operate the studio technology, the students say they have gained confidence in public speaking, presentation – and the value of a good joke.

The students present their program in pairs, with Eriko and Edie on the Monday afternoon show, Charlii and Clare on Tuesday, Stella and Allie on Wednesday, Finn and Austin on Thursday and Trae and Ashley on Friday.

The student presenter program has been part of its 2WEB’s broadcasting mix since its licence was issued almost 42 years ago and is a popular part of the 2WEB roster.
