The Bourke Rams Rugby Union Club is firing up to take on all comers in a shortened, Western Plains Rugby Union season.
The club held a stall outside Bourke Home Hardware in Oxley Street on Saturday morning – selling bacon and egg rolls, and club merchandise to raise money for the Bourke Rams 2020 season.
The short season kicks off on Saturday 25th July when the Bourke Rams travel to Warren to take on the local Warren Pumas.
Just six rounds of games will be played between four teams before the finals of this COVID-19 affected season.
The four teams are Bourke, Warren, Walgett and Nyngan, after Gulargambone, Coonamble, Cobar and Brewarrina decided against nominating for the shorter season.
The Rams are hoping for a successful season, even though it has been shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
