The Bourke Historical Vehicle Club Inc. held its first car meeting on Sunday with some classic cars on show, including a 1947 MG and an iconic Valiant Pacer.
Club President John Thompson said he was pleased with the interest shown in the vehicles by locals and the club was planning to have a monthly display at the Wal Mitchell Wharf Precinct.
“People came and had a look at the vehicles – their interiors and their engines,” Mr Thompson said.
“We had the 1947 MG owned by Louise Topalov, Robert Pitches 1971 Valiant Pacer, the 1968 Mini Moke and a 1969 Holden HT – both restored by Neil Driscoll, and a Billy Regan’s 1982 Ford Falcon XE that now belongs to Dave Neylon.
“The 1971 Valiant Pacer is an original Bourke vehicle, bought from Pearson’s Garage in Oxley Street by Bob Pitches when the vehicle first became available.
