Overcoming tough times during the pandemic

Tourism officer Jodie Sontag was preparing for the busiest time of the year, when tourists pour into Bourke for the Easter festival and the glorious Bourke autumn weather.
Instead, like everyone else in the community and around the nation, she is at home, enjoying some unexpected down time.
Like others, Jodie said she had found many positives to the enforced home isolation but said the changes to the supply chain to small communities like Bourke, particularly medical supplies, posed a real threat to the health of her family.
“I have a beautiful home and a massive garden, so I have just been busying myself here and doing the things you don’t get time for when you work,” Jodie said.
