In welcome good news, the Bourke Garden Club looks almost certain to blossom again, with hopes of a flower show and competition this Spring.
The Garden Club went into hibernation due to the drought and severe water restrictions, which left most of Bourke’s gardens looking worse for wear, and many keen gardeners unable to keep their plants thriving.
With a big flow on the way down the river and hopes of water restrictions being lifted over the next few weeks, the Bourke Garden Club wants to be ready to swing into action.
Club Secretary Liz Kerr is encouraging anyone who wants to get involved to come along to the Annual General Meeting at the Senior Citizens Centre on Mitchell Street on Sunday 23rd February at 3pm to elect office bearers and get the club flourishing once again.
