Drought takes toll on Knights Delites

The drought has hit local businesses hard, and despite the attention of state and federal governments, and promises of financial packages to tide them over, for some it’s not going to happen soon enough.

Kristy Knight from Knights Delites cafe said she will have to close her doors next year after a very tough few months.

“We were very busy during the tourist season, but I wasn’t expecting the season to end so abruptly,” Kristy said.

“We are seeing more locals coming in now that the season is over but it’s not enough for me to cover my costs.
