Bourke Wins Bluett Award For Best Rural Council
Bourke Shire Council has won the prestigious local government award – the Bluett Memorial Award.
Bourke was announced the winner of the Rural Council category at a dinner and presentation at the annual conference of Local Government NSW at Warwick Farm on Tuesday night, with General Manager Ross Earl and Mayor Barry Hollman present to accept the award.
It is the highest honour that can be awarded to a council. Mr Earl said he was thrilled that Bourke had won.
“It’s an accolade we are very proud of,” he said.
“The Bluett Award recognises Bourke Shire Council’s commitment to good practise and good governance.
