Louth Turf Club wins Country Race Club of the Year
Louth Turf Club has been named Country Race Club of the Year. The win was announced at the NSW Country and Provincial Racing Awards Dinner on Friday night (October 4) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney, and took the Louth race committee by surprise.
The Louth Turf Club was named a finalist along with Forbes and Coonamble and President Jim Strachan said while everyone was hopeful, they were stunned when the Club was named the winner.
“It was a great honour and we were up against two other exceptional clubs, so yes, it was a complete surprise,” Jim said.
“There were twelve of us from the Committee at the event and we were all called up onto the stage in front of about 600 people.
