The renovation of Bourke’s central business district is almost complete, with the main street upgrade finished and waiting for rain so the final touches of greenery can be added.

As well, Darling Park across from Diggers on the Darling and next door to the Port of Bourke Hotel, is nearing completion.

The amphitheatre, pathways and recreational areas are expected to be finished in early October and the upgrade to Sturt Street between the main street and the Wally Mitchell Wharf Precinct is also progressing.

Manager of Corporate Services Leonie Brown said the entire precinct would give Bourke a town centre the community could be proud of.

“The teams have finished down the main street and are now working on Darling Park,” Leonie said.
