The upgrading of the Wanaaring Road has streaked ahead, with crews completing the work on time and sealing ten more kilometres of road surface than expected.
Works Manager Mark Gordon said the 18-man crew, both local and contract workers, had been efficient and hardworking, and had managed to seal the additional stretch within the planned time frame.
The full first three stages of the upgrade are now wrapped up and work will shortly begin on the next stretch.
The project was funded with a grant of $11.12 million through the State government’s Fixing Country Roads Program.
