Uniting Care tours Bourke

The work of Maranguka continues to attract the attention of policy makers across the country, this time with a national care organisation with the ear of the Federal government.

National Director of Uniting Care Australia Claerwen Little was in Bourke this week to see first-hand how the Maranguka Hub operates with its various partners, from police and youth agencies to housing and health.

Ms Little was joined on the tour by West Australian Greens Senator Rachel Siewert.

“We wanted to see for ourselves the fantastic work that’s being done at Maranguka,” Ms Little said.

“We’ve talked with Alistair Ferguson, local police and the other participants about what they are trying to achieve and how they have constructed that unique hub and achieving the outcomes they are getting.
