Central Park gets big facelift

Central Park is proving to be a magnet for visitors and locals keen to make use of the new sporting and recreational facilities in the park, including recent upgrades to the tennis clubhouse.

New tennis court fencing, new half-court basketball court, solar lighting, the new public toilet block and colourful shade sails over the skate park has meant all parts of Central Park have now been given a new lease of life.

Bourke Shire Council General Manager Ross Earl said the response from the community to the improvements had been very positive.

“Central Park is a popular recreational area and stopover spot for residents and visitors with plenty of tables and chairs and grassed areas for those wishing to enjoy a picnic,” Mr Earl said.
