One of Bourke’s most important charities, the Blue Robinson Foundation, was handed a cheque for more than $1,200 after a successful fund raising event by the Bourke Bowling Club.

The donation was made by Victor Bartley and Lacey Orcher who organised the “A” Day Bowls fund raiser. Trustees for the Blue Robinson Foundation Maree Weldon and Leonie Brown gratefully accepted the cheque, which will help the Foundation support local families requiring cancer treatment away from home.

Victor Bartley said the Blue Robinson Foundation had supported many local families, including his own, when they had to travel for medical treatment and the bowls day was one way to give back. It was also an opportunity for indigenous and non-indigenous players to play together on the bowling green.
