Rugby League – Bourke Warriors victorious at Cobar

Bourke Warriors won matches against the Menindee Yabbies and Wilcannia on Saturday in the Far West Rugby League Crossover competition.
Matches were played at Cobar’s Tom Knight Memorial Oval, where Barwon Darling Cup Rugby League premiers Bourke Warriors competed in a round robin with Menindee and Wilcannia sides.
Bourke will play its final round match against Newtown at Walgett next Saturday (July 20) before hosting the 2019 grand final on Saturday, August 3.
The Menindee team overnighted in Cobar, and were well-prepared for their clash against the Bourke Warriors.
But in a high-quality Bourke scored seven-tries-to-five in an entertaining 34-26 success.
Bourke captain-coach Bruce Morris scored a double from dummy-half while Dalton McInerney, Jeremy Edwards and the Elwoods (Jordan, Keenan and Connor) were also amongst the try-scorers.
