The beauty of Brewarrina is being shared with a bigger audience as part of a new strategy to increase tourism to the town.
Although in its early stages, Communications Service Manager Jen Shearer is confident there will be significant long term outcomes for Brewarrina’s tourism economy.
Recently, Alana Peattie and Stephanie Tattersall from the Brewarrina Visitor Information Centre joined Jen at a workshop in Dubbo hosted by Destinations NSW Country and Outback, which focussed on Aboriginal tourism.
Jen said Council was looking at a three year strategy with the first strategic planning meeting held last week.
“We are really in the early stages of promoting Brewarrina as a tourism destination and it’s about looking at our town with fresh eyes and a fresh perspective,” she said.
“We all know it is a beautiful place and we want to share that with the rest of the country, so we have started doing more with our social media, showcasing everyday things we take for granted - our beautiful river, the sunsets and the open spaces.
