Bourke IGA has presented $3,000 worth of gift cards to local kids for winning a competition telling their stories about how the drought has affected them.
Manager of Khan’s Supa IGA Bourke, Waheed Khan said the drought has been crippling for farmers and their families across the state, and we hope that these gift cards will help alleviate some of the stress that local farming families are experiencing.
“We were really impressed by all the entries and happy that so many winners from Bourke were chosen. It doesn’t get any better than locals supporting locals!
“The team at Khan’s Supa IGA is passionate about supporting the local community and is delighted to present local kids Caleb, Aiko, Abbie, Billy, Jandre and Lilly with these gift cards,” Mr Khan said.
IGA supported the recent Adopt a Farmer campaign, designed to highlight the issues, and to support farmers, shops and businesses in country towns across Australia.
