Willie Middleton recognised for outstanding service

Former Bourke man Willie Middleton has been honoured with a NSW Police Medallion for his tireless contribution to indigenous youth.
Willie is the Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer based in Dubbo, and his work has been recognised during the Community Recognition statement made in State Parliament by Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders.
He has also been recognised with a Commissioner of Police Long Service Award and the Orana Mid-Western District Commissioner’s Certificate.
Willie Middleton is a proud Barkindji man, and his outstanding career began in his hometown when in 1995 he was offered the role of community liaison officer to help stem the rising tide of youth crime and incarceration.
