Murray-Darling Basin Plan on track

Two senior bureaucrats with the Murray Darling Basin Authority were in Bourke this week as part of a tour of the Northern Rivers.
Russell James is Engagement Officer and Head of Compliance with the MDBA and was joined on his fact finding tour by General Manager of Compliance, Brent Williams.
Mr James said that while it had been a difficult road getting agreement across four states and multiple levels of government as well as communities with differing needs and in some of the driest conditions on record, the Plan was a success.
“We are getting good results with compliance and we have teams and technology now getting interesting results from satellite monitoring,” Mr James said.
