Bourke Shire Council is leading the fight against wild dogs in a coordinated attack with other members of the Joint Organisation of Councils.
Council has received almost one million dollars to roll out programs to combat the wild dogs, which have decimated stock numbers across the Far West.
The money is on top of funding for the replacement of the wild dog fence separating Queensland and NSW.
Council General Manager Ross Earl said stock losses were having a devastating impact on farmers already struggling to survive the drought.
