Cod Cup draws a big, happy crowd

The weather was fine, the track was good and the Brewarrina race club enjoyed another successful meeting on Saturday, with a crowd of 500 people dressing up – and down – for the occasion.

Race Club President Robert Wason said 44 horses from as far afield as Scone and Condobolin made the trip with their trainers and jockeys to compete for honours on the six race card.

“It was a great success,” Robert said.

“We were really well supported by the trainers and by the community with between 400 and 500 people going through the turnstiles.

“We had great feedback from the jockeys, particularly the lady jockeys; about our new facilities and the upgrades met everyone’s expectations.
