Bourke Easter Festival ready to go!

The wool bales are place, the music festival site is ready, the vintage cars have been given a final shine, the racehorses are on their way and it’s just hours from the official start of the 2019 Bourke Easter reunion Festival.
This year more than ever, the Easter Festival is an example of Bourke’s strong community spirit, and a determination to welcome old friends, visitors and family despite the hardship of drought.
And while there may not be enough water in the river for the Jandra Paddleboat to take her place on the calendar of events, there is plenty on offer across the entire weekend.
Committee spokesperson Jodie Sontag said the work behind the scenes had been an extraordinary team effort between staff at the Council, various government agencies and dedicated committee members.
“We’ve just about got everything done,” Jodie said. “The regulatory requirements for things like blocking off roads and security and licensing have all been done and that’s always quite a lot of work to make sure all that is in place.
