Battle for Barwon

Three of the six candidates battling it out for the Barwon electorate in the upcoming state election spruiked their policies at a breakfast debate at Diggers-on-the-Darling on Tuesday, with water security and local economies the biggest issues.

The Nationals candidate Andrew Shier, Shooters, Fishers and Farmers’ Roy Butler and the ALP’s Darriea Turley each gave an address on the issues they felt impacted on communities in the electorate and their credentials for dealing with them.

Roy Butler cited population drift as an ongoing problem for rural and remote communities in the electorate. Read more in the printed edition of the Western Herald.
