Sons of Bourke to race at Randwick

The champagne corks were popping on Sunday afternoon when Sons of Bourke placed second in the most important qualifying event on the country racing calendar.

Sons of Bourke finished second behind Westlink in the $150,000 Country Championships Qualifier over 1400metres

That was enough to ensure a place in the $500,000 final at Royal Randwick on 6th April.

Ridden by jockey Andrew Banks, Sons of Bourke flew down the outside to claim second spot, three and a quarter lengths behind the favourite Westlink.Read more in the printed edition of the Western Herald.
