As foreshadowed Bourke Shire Council now advises all residents of Bourke and North Bourke that due to the depletion of the Bourke Weir Pool, Level Three (3) Water Restrictions will apply effective mid-day Monday 24th December 2018.
The height of the Darling River at Bourke Weir has dropped to drop to 3 metres and this is the catalyst for the introduction of level three (3) restrictions.
The use of fixed sprinklers will be prohibited.
Hand held hoses can be used for two (2) hours per day only at each property.
The washing of paved areas and motor vehicles can only be undertaken using buckets (commercial operations with recycling facilities are exempt) and the filling or topping up of private swimming pools is prohibited in accordance with Council’s adopted policy.
The cooperation of all residents is sought in complying with these restrictions.
Water restrictions as detailed in Council’s adopted policy will also apply to watering of public parks, recreational areas and sporting ovals and where possible the hours will be varied from residential allocated periods to ensure as far as possible water pressure is maintained for all residents during the times allowed for watering under the restrictions
Full details of restrictions are available on Councils Website www.bourke.nsw.gov.au
The cooperation of all residents is sought in complying with these restrictions.
