The rejuvenation of the main street in Bourke is gathering pace, with sandstone seating installed and four new crosswalks painted.
Pedestrians will now have right of way at the intersection of Oxley and Sturt Streets marking the far end of the renovated main street.
Shade and gardens are yet to be installed as footpath widening nears completion.
Mayor Barry Hollman said while there had been some criticism of the changes he was optimistic the community would appreciate the new look CBD once the final touches were complete.
