One of Bourke’s most active community members has been chosen as a Bourke-based Regional Engagement Officer for the Murray Darling Basin Authority.
Peter Thomas is a relative newcomer to Bourke but in less than two years since he and his wife came to town, he has been a busy and effective resident.
Peter has joined the committee of the Men’s Shed, worked to get the Community Art Gallery operating, helped establish the Community Garden and promoted the sport of Dragon Boat Racing.
Adding Regional Engagement Officer to his considerable raft of activities was not something he expected when he moved to Bourke in January 2017.
