Clay Simmonds eyes off the Olympics

With an international equestrian win under his belt, Bourke’s Clay Simmonds has his eyes on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

And he has a very strong chance of making the Australian team.

Clay won the international show-jumping competition in Beijing last week – with just a few days’ notice he was to compete, and riding an unknown horse – an eight year old stallion.

Clay returned home to the family’s Kidman’s Camp Caravan Park for a few days before heading back to Victoria, where he and sister Sally train and live with their equestrian coach. Read more in the printed edition of the Western Herald
