Bourke boasts more than its fair share of success stories as former and current residents forge significant careers far beyond the levee banks.

Pilot John Smart left Bourke in his teens but his job means he gets a birdseye view of his hometown on a regular basis - and he’s always keen to share his unique photographs and promote the beauty of Bourke.
