Wally Mitchell our Citizen of the Year

One of Bourke’s most respected citizens was finally awarded the honour of being Citizen of the Year at the Australia Day Awards ceremony. Former Bourke Mayor Wally Mitchell was a popular choice for the award with many people surprised he had not previously been given recognition for his tireless work in the community.
