$2 million SES HQ for Tibooburra

Tibooburra’s State Emergency Service volunteers have a new purpose-built home, with a $2 million NSW government facility officially opened.

The new NSW SES Tibooburra Unit is almost twice the size of the building it replaces and has been designed to give local volunteers more room for vehicles, equipment, training and emergency operations.

The facility includes garages capable of housing the latest generation of SES rescue vehicles and boats, dedicated equipment storage, office space, a training room, kitchen and change room facilities, along with upgraded technology.

While fewer than 100 people live in Tibooburra, the local SES Unit operates across a much larger area, supporting surrounding stations, remote communities, properties and travellers throughout the remote Far West of NSW.

Volunteers can be called on for storm and flood response, resupply operations, general land rescue, support at road crashes, stranded motorists and other emergencies alongside police, ambulance, fire and other services. […]
