100-year anniversary ride from Bourke

The Royal Far West 2025 Ride for Country Kids kicked off at Bourke last Thursday – as a 380km adventure through far western New South Wales.

The ride brought together 100 riders to celebrate 100 years of Royal Far West’s commitment to rural and remote Australia and raising crucial funds to provide essential health services for country kids.

The ride followed a route through communities that have been served by the Royal Far West for 100 years – from Bourke to Cobar – the home of RFW’s founder Stanley Drummond – to Nyngan, Narromine and on to Dubbo.

Royal Far West (RFW) also announced a new funding agreement with Minderoo Foundation to expand essential early intervention services in Bourke.

During the celebration at Bourke District Children’s Services, Royal Far West CEO Jacqui Emery said that over the last 100 years the Royal Far West has gone beyond to ensure that distance isn’t a barrier to a child’s health and education.

“This Ride is more than a symbolic journey,” Ms Emery said.

“It is a powerful statement of commitment to ensuring country kids can access the developmental and mental health services they so urgently need.”  […]
