Vale Wulf Reichler OAM — Brewarrina loses former Mayor

The Brewarrina community, and friends and colleagues throughout western NSW, are mourning the death of former Mayor of Brewarrina Shire – Wulf Reichler.

Mr Reichler passed away at Brewarrina Hospital last Tuesday night after a short illness.

He had served on Brewarrina Shire Council for 29 years, from 1987 until 2016, and was awarded an OAM for his services to that community.

Brewarrina Shire Council Mayor, Philip O’Connor said that the passing of Wulf Reichler was an extremely sad time for the community.

“Wulf was someone who had a great love for Brewarrina; he was an exceptionally community-minded man who advocated for Brewarrina for many years.

“And he always supported the various clubs and organisations in our town, and he will certainly be missed.”

“He was a dedicated councillor, deputy mayor and mayor, he sat on many committees, and he gave his time to represent our community, and for that we will be forever thankful,” Councillor O’Connor said.

Wulf Ernest Reichler was born in Germany and he moved to the western NSW in 1953.
