RUGBY UNION – Old Boys ready for annual Baabarians match
The boys are dusting off their footy boots, and the guernseys might have last year’s date on them, but all is ready for one of the big events at the Back O’Bourke Easter Festival – the old boys rugby.
The match attracts a large and enthusiastic crowd at Davidson Oval every Easter Saturday and with last year’s game cancelled due to COVID, organisers are confident they’ll field a large number of players keen for a run on the paddock this year.
Tony Bennett was one of the former Bourke boys who helped get the Baabarians Old Boys Rugby together and says he has no doubt there will be plenty of talent on show this year.
“We’ll know how many boys we’ll have about half an hour before kick-off,” he said.
