Ross is back in the hot seat at Bourke Shire

There’s a familiar face back in town, with Ross Earl, former General Manager of Bourke Shire Council, returning to the top job for a short time.

Mr Earl retired from full time local government work after finishing his role as General Manager of the Bourke Shire Council, which he held from 2012 to 2020.

Obviously familiar with the region, Mr Earl had no trouble fitting back into the role while current GM, Leonie Brown is on leave.

Unfortunately, his five-week stint was interrupted when he contracted COVID last week, but he is now back on the job, and reflected on his time in local government.

“It would be fair to say that from a general manager’s point of view, I was blessed with a very productive and supportive council who were always trying to get things done” Mr Earl said.

“That philosophy of the council seems to be continuing and the evidence is in projects like the new water treatment plant, roads being sealed, the swimming pool being rebuilt, and progress in the Main Street CBD.{…]
