Bourke will host a Mental Health Summit next week, with Minister for Regional Health Mark Coulton joining a range of agencies and mental health advocates for the two-day event.

Adam McLean, Director of Wellness Connect at Maranguka is coordinating the event, which he hopes will provide a blueprint to improve the mental health of the Bourke community into the future.

“The summit is on June 3-4 and some of the other special guests who will be addressing the summit include Joe Williams, a successful mental health ambassador, professional boxer and ex-NRL player who runs his program called The Enemy Within, and Ex-Bourke boy and professional boxer Glen Collis who has a compelling story about his lived experience.

“Other people attending will be those who represent organisations or local people with an interest in improving the mental health of their community.
