Lightning Ridge to feature in new movie drama

Lightning Ridge residents have been watched closely as three out-of-towners run reconnaissance trips to town to find out how life is lived in the harsh opal mining environment.

One of the three could be mistaken for Underbelly Crime Figure Jason Moran who was gunned down in Essendon while watching his children play football in 2003.

The confusion is that Australian actor Les Hill played the part of Jason Moran in the popular television crime series Underbelly.

Les Hill is an Australian actor who has appeared in many Australian television productions including Rescue: Special Ops, and Home and Away.

So, Les Hill, director Joshua Whiteman, and filmmaker Peter Eastgate have been scoping the town and will be familiar sights as they work on a movie idea written by Josh Whiteman.
