Lightning Ridge Opal Festival a big success

The Lightning Ridge Opal and Gem Festival wrapped up on Saturday after a successful four days that showcased the region’s most valuable resource.

There were plenty of people in town checking out the 150 plus stalls, enjoying the atmosphere and sharing the ‘love of opal’.

As the event has free entry the Lightning Ridge Opal and Gem Festival committee has always struggled to gauge accurate visitor numbers.
