Lightning Ridge considers new Chamber of Commerce

In a collaborative effort, the residents of Lightning Ridge met for a dynamic brainstorming session to delve into the prospects of establishing a local Chamber of Commerce.

Spearheaded by Kerry Palmer from the Department of Regional NSW and Vicki Seccombe, Regional Director - Western NSW, the meeting aimed to gather insights on the town’s specific needs and requirements for support.

Initial discussions revealed a degree of uncertainty among attendees, as some questioned the viability of introducing another committee to a town already hosting several.

Chief among the concerns were the scarcity of volunteers, time constraints, and energy limitations.

These practical challenges emerged as notable obstacles during the preliminary stages of the meeting.

The participants formed a diverse representation of the business community, encompassing large and small business proprietors.
