Is community spirit infectious in Bourke? Positive stories during COVID-19

The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic are being felt globally, however little is known about the impact of food access in remote Australian communities.

In response, student dietitians from the Melbourne’s Swinburne University of Technology conducted a feedback project with the North West Academic Centre to better understand whether COVID-19 has impacted Bourke’s food supply, and to help guide future efforts to address the impact.

Although people in Bourke are experiencing similar challenges to those in other parts of Australia, there have been many positive stories highlighting the resilience of country people.
