The Bre Big Fish competition is on this weekend, with registrations now open, and organisers are hoping for a successful event for 2021.

Like many other events, the contest was cancelled last year, and organisers are hoping there will be many fishing enthusiasts to kick it off this year. Club President, Naya Jeffries, said the Bre Big Fish competition was important as a fundraiser and to continue improving the health of fish stocks in the Barwon Darling River.

“The registrations are open from 10-5pm daily at the RSL,” Naya said.

“It will be interesting to see how many we get this year after the cancellation last year, but it’s an important event to raise money to put fish back into the river.
