Further delays on carp virus

Shadow Federal Water Minister Senator Perin Davey has been investigating the lack of progress of the National Carp Control Program and told 2WEB this week that any progress is at least two years away.

“We’ve been going through some estimates this week in Canberra and I’m trying to find out what happened to the National Carp Control Program,” Senator Davey said.

“People may remember that in 2016, under the former coalition government, funding was put towards establishing a National Carp Control Program with a view to researching ways to eradicate carp, including releasing the carp herpes virus.
