Combined hazard reduction and burn on Bourke levee

Bourke’s emergency services will be conducting hazard reduction burns around the Bourke levee between Monday 2nd November and Friday 9th November 2020.
The Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) in conjunction with the Police, Fire + Rescue NSW and the Bourke Shire Council have joined forces after a spate of fires along the levee.
NSW RFS Inspector Craig Warwick, Police Crime Manager Inspector Paul Quigg, Fire + Rescue NSW Station Commander John Milgate and Bourke Shire Council Environmental Services Manager Dwayne Willoughby all agree - the hazard reduction and burn needs to be completed for the benefit of the local community.
