Christmas has arrived, with the festive season celebrated in Central Park last Friday night.

Maranguka and Bourke Shire Council hosted a great family event, attended by more than five hundred people.

On a warm evening, there was plenty of action with the kids working up a sweat battling it out on the sumo wrestling mat, only to cool off down the monster water slide.

There was plenty of Christmas shopping down market alley with loads of nick-nacks, toy stalls, plants, jewelry, craft, books, indigenous artworks, as well as that special Christmas gift from Merran Turnbull’s photography stall.

There was something for everyone to eat at the food stalls, with snow cones, donuts, cheesecakes and grazing platters, fresh cherries, barbeques and Nepalese curries to keep the crowd well fed.
