Brewarrina Fire and Rescue Station unveils new mural

Brewarrina’s fire station was a focal point for community pride and cultural recognition during NAIDOC Week, with local fireys and Fire and Rescue NSW personnel taking part in the official unveiling of a new mural painted on the front of the building.

The artwork, created by local artist Peter Gordon, tells the story of the Brewarrina fish traps, the Ngunnhu, and reflects the deep cultural and historical significance of the region and its people. The mural has been up for a little while, but until now hadn’t been officially opened. NSW Fire and Rescue’s Duty Commander Region West 1, Tim Jennings, said it was a powerful moment for the town.
