Brewarrina Clay Target Club – Clay targets pull in the crowd
The Barwon and Districts Continental Championships were held at the Brewarrina Clay Target Club last weekend, with some participants travelling as far away as Victoria to attend the competition.
Around 40 men and women of all ages participated in the event, which began on Saturday and ended on Sunday.
In the Open Division, Robert Thompson from the Cobar Clay Target Club took home first prize hitting 257 out of a possible 270 targets.
Helen Overton from Guyra won the AA division with a total score of 239/270 targets, Braden Marett from Brewarrina won the A division with a score of 250/270, Max Ingleton from Bourke won the B division with a score of 218/270, and Tyler Marett from Brewarrina won the C division, hitting 216 out of 270 targets.
In the Junior competition, Dustin Hone from Guyra took home first prize with a total score of 223/270, Clare Kesby from Brewarrina won the Ladies competition with a score of 183/270, and Max Betts from Brewarrina won the Veterans competition with a score of 219/270.
After the presentation, Brewarrina Clay Target Club President Dallas Codrington said that the event was the best they’ve had in years.
