Bre preschool celebrates 50 years with Emma Memma
Community members from Brewarrina and beyond came together to celebrate 50 years of Gainmara Birrilee Preschool last Friday.
The Preschool’s Director, Frayne Barker said the event involved plenty of food, music, and activities.
“It was a fabulous day with the whole community coming together,” Frayne said.
“I really want to thank everyone from the service providers to individuals who helped make this such a great event.”
“There were activity stations for the kids and plenty of things for everyone.
“It was great to see Prue bring a bus across from the Bourke and District Children’s Services to join in and a lot of people must have known about it because we had over 500 people turn up in total.”
A big drawcard for the Gainmara Birrilee Preschool celebrations was an appearance by children’s entertainer, Emma Memma.
“I think everyone fell in love with Emma, including myself,” Frayne said.
“I really want to thank the Minderoo Foundation for helping to get her here – she was just fantastic, and her show was amazing.
“She is such a lovely person and stayed around until the end, and even afterwards.
“She was happy to pose for the children and adults and she took the time to walk around and talk to everyone.”
Frayne said that, even though she was feeling tired after the event, the celebration had been a fantastic way to chalk up 50 years of the operating the Gainmara Birrilee Preschool in Brewarrina.
“Everyone involved just went way over and above what was expected, and it made it a really successful event,” she said. ALL
