Bourke Show

After catching our collective breath following the highly successful Back O’Bourke Easter Festival, it’s time to enjoy another popular community event - the Bourke P&A Show, this Saturday.

Show Committee President, Grace Ridge, said the new pavilion and facilities at the Renshaw Oval had been given a thumbs up by everyone who attended the Bourke Picnic Races last month, and now they’d be put to good use again as the focal point for the show exhibits.

“The Bourke Show is always widely anticipated by the community but even more so this year,” Grace said.

“There’s a real buzz in the air, especially with our very own Lilly Hand doing such a great job as Bourke’s representative in the state finals at the Sydney Royal Easter Show; and we are looking to capitalise on that buzz.

“There’s plenty happening on the day - the pavilion section is always super exciting and it shows there is a lot of talent in our community. If you haven’t already entered something, get your nominations in now because there are so many exhibits you can enter.

“There’s cooking, craft, flower displays - which are one of my favourite exhibits because they smell so wonderful.

Bourke Show Update The Bourke Show Committee is keeping a close eye on forecasts of heavy rainfall this week and will meet on Thursday evening to decide if the Show can go ahead. Committee President, Grace Ridge, said people should check the Bourke Show Facebook page for updates. Outback Radio 2WEB will also be updating weather forecasts and rainfall totals as usual. “Unfortunately, we can’t control the weather so in the interests of public safety we will meet on Thursday and decide if we can go ahead, if we have to modify some events or if we have to cancel,” Grace said. “We ask that people respect our final decision, but I have my fingers crossed that we will be able to hold another fantastic Bourke Show.”
