Bourke Hospitality Students to cook at Royal Easter Show

Dreams of experiencing commercial cooking and café service at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney have come true for nine local Bourke High School students.

Every year the Sydney Royal Easter Show invites students from rural, regional, and remote locations of NSW to travel to Sydney to experience commercial cooking and cafe service in the busy show environment.

For three days students prepare and cook tasting plates that are sold to the public.

The café is run by Year 11 and 12 hospitality students from rural areas who gain valuable skills and work experience towards their vocational education and training qualifications and for the HSC.

Last year, 13 students from Nyngan High School, travelled down to Sydney’s Royal Easter Show for the experience, and this year nine Bourke High School students will travel together to join in the fun and educational opportunities.[…]
