The Bourke representative cricket team has had a successful Christmas period, winning their last three games on the trot to reach the semi-final of the Macquarie Valley Brewery Shield.

The Bourke side will travel to Cobar on Sunday looking to book a spot in the grand final against last year’s premiers, Narromine in February.

Bourke hosted Nyngan in late December and successfully chased the 200 runs set by Nyngan to secure a win by three wickets. The Bourke side then travelled to Nyngan to face-off against Wellington in the final match of the regular season, the prize being a spot in the semi-final. Wellington posted a competitive total of 135 on a minefield of a pitch, but Bourke made light work of it, chasing the runs with seven wickets in hand.
