Bigger, brighter, bouncier Easter 2022
It might be Christmas time, but that hasn’t stopped committed community members jumping on the front foot for early Easter planning.
Active community members met at the Bourke Shire Chambers last Thursday to begin planning for an even bigger, brighter, and bouncier Back O’Bourke Easter Festival in 2022.
Bourke Shire Council Economic Development Manager, Melanie Milgate, said the Back O’ Bourke Easter Festival just keeps getting bigger and better, and 2022 will be no exception.
“We have some great surprises in store for next year and that’s why we’ve come together to get started planning early.
“A lot of work goes in to coordinating a big event - compiling top line acts, entertainment, activities and events, that fill our ever-growing Easter Festival program.
“Easter is a great family time in Bourke. It’s a time of reunions and reconnections, as well as making new ones. It all happens at the Back O’Bourke at Easter time.
“Our old mates come back - it’s like the old days all over again. Everyone reminisces, the yarns just keep coming. It’s a truly great time of year.
Melanie says the main message right now is to talk Easter at Christmas with your family and friends and get them coming back to Bourke next Easter.
“If we learned anything over the COVID period, it was how hard it is without being able to see family.
